Renee Field Coordinates “Santa to a Senior” Effort Along with Duval’s Pharmacy

Renee Field, Abington Site Manager, has worked with Duval’s pharmacy to coordinate donations to local elderly this Holiday Season.

Be a Santa to a Senior is an annual holiday gift program developed and sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care as a way to brighten the lives of older adults during the holiday season. Duval’s pharmacy has been a participating store for three years.

Thousands of lonely and financially challenged seniors struggle with the holiday blues. They dread facing the holiday season without family or friends. To address this issue, Home Instead Senior Care partners with local non-profit and community organizations to identify financially challenged and isolated seniors. The company also partners with local businesses and retail stores, such as Duval’s, to enlist their involvement in facilitating the purchase and distribution of gifts.

Each senior's gift requests are written on a Be a Santa to a Senior program tree ornament. Volunteers place each ornament on the Christmas tree located at Duval’s Pharmacy where individuals can pick a senior to buy for. The gifts are collected, wrapped and delivered to the seniors.

In hopes of bringing holiday joy to the lives of older adults in our community Compass Medical, P.C. has signed up to buy gifts for 127 seniors. Thanks for all of your hard work Renee; great job!
